Glen Elder State Park offers a wide variety of outdoor recreational opportunities and supporting facilities. Highly maintained, it is very suitable for family and friend gatherings, boaters, campers and other outdoor enthusiasts of all ages. Family-friendly, the Park provides many opportunities including: children’s playground, swimming, boating, hiking, volleyball and softball facilities, reservable group shelter and a public fish cleaning station.
Hiking and Biking Trails are laid out and maintained throughout the entire park system providing opportunity for both fitness and nature enthusiasts. An archery range with a variety of targets set at various distances, is available directly across from the Park's ranger station. Historical Things To See within the park include the Waconda Visitors & Educational Center, Hopewell Church and a replica of Waconda Springs, the lake’s namesake.
